The Garlic: Field to Table event will happen on Sunday, June 27 from 10:30 AM - 2 PM at Chispas Farm in the South Valley.
Learn about the history and biodiversity of garlic. Tour one of the world's largest garlic collections, and see the differences between varieties. Learn how to grow it, and when to harvest it. See how it is cured, and then processed for sale. Then, come into the kitchen and learn about cooking with garlic, and end the event with a garlic potluck. There is no cost for this event, though a garlic-themed dish for the potluck is requested. Please bring your own plates, cups, tableware and beverages.
This event will be centered around the garlic biodiversity project run by your co-convivia leaders Jeff Nekola, Linda Fey and Chispas Farm. We grow out over 325 garlic vareties every year.
Chispas Farm is located at 229 Saavedra Road SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87107. If you get lost, you can call Eli and Amanda for directions at: (505) 247-4088
